Stan and Susan Kannas

My name is Susan. I just finished the part-time, on-line, nursing program through LATI in December 2010. I received my LPN license on January 10, 2011. For the last 13 years I have been a Certified Medical Assistant working at Brown Clinic. I currently work with Dr. Dan Reiffenberger, Chris and Beth. Some of my duties include rooming patients, taking vitals, gathering information from the patient, helping Dr. Dan with procedures, answering the phone, giving injections and inputting information into our electronic medical records system. My career goals include getting into the RN program through USD at LATI in the fall. I really would like to become an RN and work in a hospital. It would be a totally different atmosphere from working in the clinic all these years.

Jackie & Dan

I am currently an HSA student at LATI and plan on starting the online PN program this fall. Upon graduation from LATI, I hope to go on to USD for my RN degree. I live just outside of Lake Preston with my wonderful husband, Dan. We have no children, but we do have two great dogs, a St Bernard named Clementine and a Red Lab named Avery. We love to take them to the lake or hunting with us, since that is how we spend most of our free time. We also run our own small business, Predator Arms. We sell firearms and hunting/sportsman's gear, so we are particularly busy in the fall months. I am really excited to be back in school. I graduated from LATI in 2000 with a degree in Banking/Finance, but over the years, I have come to realize that that career field just isn't for me. I look forward to starting my career as a nurse!! I know it will add a lot of happiness and fulfillment to my life!
